I’m a plant doctor that study plants using an engineer point of view. I’m a Spanish researcher that moved to UK to continue studying how plants can defend themselves despite they can’t move. I have a huge number of plants at home and in my desk, so my main hobby is gardening but I also enjoy fantasy and mystery literature (Laura Gallego and Agatha Christie), embroidery, crafting, and traditional Spanish cooking.

About Me:
I live in rural Shropshire with my partner, our five rehomed dogs (ex racing Greyhounds, Lurcher and a Dalmatian) and our rehomed African Pygmy Hedgehog. I work as a Senior Lecturer in Plant Biology, teaching and researching during the day, and in the evening I enjoy training at a muay thai gym, cooking and catching up on my favourite Superheros (I love both DC and Marvel). Weekends usually involve my partner dragging me to watch the rugby, doing diy or walking our dogs.

I live in Cambridge, UK, and I originally hail from Assam, in India – famous for producing one of the finest black teas, and also for the single-horned rhinoceros. I grew up in the tropical climate of the Himalayan Rainforests, and was naturally interested in plants. Therefore, in my PhD, I studied how the carnivorous plant Venus flytrap recognizes an insect, and closes rapidly. I enjoy playing tennis, strumming a guitar, and long-distance cycling in my free time.
